Urban Expeditions

Urban Research Theater is permanently invested in the exploration and rediscovery of the contemporary city through urban expeditions incorporating performance-related practice.

A crucial question for us is how techniques of song, movement, and action can serve the human animal in its modern urban context. We have led expeditions in various neighborhoods of New York City as well as in the Polish city of Wroclaw. These expeditions usually include significant periods of silence and "active meditation" in addition to explicitly theatrical interventions.
